This machine makes a great margarita every time. Ordered it for a 4th of July party and it arrived in just 3 days, plenty of time to practice; but it's so easy to operate, you don't need much practice. Also used it for some frozen rum drinks. (you just need to shave a little extra ice). Worked like a dream all night long. Have used it several times since for all kinds of frozen drinks (both with and without alcohol). The only problem is the physical size. It is a little big to leave out on the counter all the time, and so save the box to pack it back up once you're done. I admit I thought twice about spending that kind of money on a drink machine but once I had a margarita I was convinced it was well worth it. In fact, by the end of the night I was not longer on bartender duty as it is easy enough for anyone to operate and still get a perfect drink everytime. If you love margaritas do yourself a favor and pick one of these up.

My coastal cottage is named "Margaritaville" so, of course, I had to have the Margaritaville Frozen Concoction Maker. I opted for the DM 1000. For very little more than the DM 500, you get much more pazazz and convenience. And...no matter what anyone tells you - you don't need the DM2000. The ice reservoir is PLENTY big on the 1000. It will make four pitchers (24 drinks in average-sized Margarita glasses before more ice is needed. Also, you don't need the different drink textures. There is no huge difference - so, save yourselve $110. plus dollars and buy the DM1000. There is positively no guess work and your frozen drinks will come out perfectly every time. The ice is shaved and added to the pitcher, your drinks are blended and the machine even shuts itself off when your drinks are ready!
Here's my recipe for excellent Margaritas without those syrupy, fake-y tasting Margarita mixes : You will need one large can of frozen limeade concentrate; Tequila and Triple Sec. Add the entire contents of the limeade can to the pitcher. Using the can, measure 1/2 can of Tequila and 1/3 can of Triple Sec and pour each into the pitcher. A touch more of both the Tequila and the Triple Sec is fine and will ensure your drink glasses will be full. Put the selection switch on "3 drinks". Fill the reservoir to the line with ice cubes, cover and put the pitcher in place. Flip the toggle up. Yum. Six excellent frozen Margaritas, perfectly mixed.

I purchased this before my daughter's wedding when we had a pre-rehearsal day party at our house. This was so easy to use; the recipes included for the margarita were wonderful; and this is a gorgeous machine!
After drinks were made and there was still some ice in the top reservoir, I never had to worry about it leaking out as it goes into a chamber on the back of the machine as it melts. You just pop that off and empty. Did I tell you how easy this was to use...exactly!
Would I recommend this machine, definitely yes! I have an appliance garage with my cabinets, so I took the ice part off the top and it slides in beautifully just waiting for the next party.

I bought this for my birthday. It was a hit at the party. Easy to use too. The only thing I have to figure out is where to store it. Its a little bulky and parts of it are hard to clean. Just make sure you clean it before the sticky stuff sets.
